Drew Carlson

Television & New Media Production, 2010

Work hard, make as many connections as possible and have a great attitude. Even if you are frustrated with work or life, don't let it show to people that you don't know too well, because that attitude will reflect on you and all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the bunch as they say. I have worked with many extremely successful people in the industry I am in from famous tv directors to on air personalities, and the one thing that I notice from each one of those individuals are their attitudes towards work and towards others, there is never any complaining or whining they are always smiling and being very positive, and that I feel is the best advice anyone can give you is to just be positive and to be happy, in your career and in life.

Carla Bulten

Practical Nursing Student, 2010

I am an absolute believer in taking your time to make the right decision for the future. I know that parents and teachers push post secondary and expect you to know what you want to do right away, but I recommend (highly) taking your time. Take at least a year, maybe two after high school and really think about it. For example, when I first applied to post secondary I was accepted into Graphic Design and Photojournalism. Now, I am in Practical Nursing and happier than ever. I know that this is what I want for myself. Think about it :)
